Connect with the past to change the present

Studying history is more than memorizing dates. It's only by knowing why world-changing events occur that we can solve today's problems. Knowledge of history keeps us from repeating mistakes. It develops our empathy and provides context for the human experience.

This multidisciplinary transfer program translates to a variety of bachelor�s programs, such as law, public relations, marketing and education. Once you identify your desired 4-year university or college, complete your Associate in Arts with courses that meet the school�s requirements. Then as a historian, teacher, journalist, lawyer or other professional, use your comprehensive knowledge of the past to present well-researched recommendations for the future.

You will enjoy smaller classes, the same preparation as you would find at larger, more impersonal 4-year schools, where you are taught by TAs not professors. At ��, the instructors are teachers first. They dedicate their careers to helping you learn from the past to accomplish more in the future.

The �� History program not only has the basic courses, but you can take classes in Latin American History, the History of World War II, even the History of Chicago, many of which will transfer as history credits.

For degree-seeking students planning to transfer to a 4-year college or university for a bachelor�s degree.

Transfer degree programs are built around general education classes that lead to an associate degree designed to transfer to a 4-year school. �� participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) to ensure that approved courses will transfer to other participating colleges and universities. Transfer degrees typically take 2 years of full-time enrollment to complete.
