The thing I love most about working at �������� is helping my students navigate the complexities of college life. I am a �������� alum myself. I was fortunate to have great advocates and advisors who made sure I stayed on track academically and used available benefits and resources. As a College and Career Navigator, I�m lucky to have the opportunity now to pay it forward with current Lancers beginning their college journeys. My professional background includes not only a six-year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force, but nearly a decade as a high school English teacher. While I am not a Lake County native, coming from the South Suburbs of Chicago, I could not be more excited to join the amazing and passionate team of College and Career Navigators here at ��������! I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Secondary Education from Governors State University. I have worked in various aspects of education since 2020. I have always viewed education and learning as essential for all. We are all lifelong learners. Learning is how we grow as professionals and as people. I look forward to leveraging my experience in education and teaching to help students as they begin their higher education journey. During my own college journey, I experienced the power of mentorship, encouragement, and guidance in helping students navigate challenges and discover their passions. Those experiences shaped my commitment to making sure every student feels seen, supported, and confident in their path forward.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin � Parkside in 2023, I served as a Transfer Counselor at Dominican University, where I worked closely with students making one of the biggest transitions in their educational journey. Now, as a College and Career Navigator at ��������, I�m excited to continue that work. Helping others find their purpose truly is my purpose. While attending ISU, I took multiple classes at ��������. This helped make college more affordable. Plus, I got personalized attention in classes I knew I would struggle in. I graduated from ISU with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. As a high school English teacher, I spent a decade working with students from all backgrounds. I also helped them develop plans for after high school. After leaving the classroom, I worked at a Lake County non-profit specializing in adolescent mental health. As a CCN, I am excited to reconnect with students, help them identify their passions, and advocate for their needs.

I am a �������� alumna. It�s where I got my associate degree and played softball for two years. I grew up in Lake Villa and went to Grayslake North High School. After earning my A.A. at ��������, I transferred to the University of North Carolina, where I received bachelor's degrees in criminal justice and psychology. As a College and Career Navigator, I work with students to determine their next step in education, even if they haven�t yet found their passion for a specific career. I want to help students find their interests in different fields, while taking off some of the pressure to �have it all figured out." There is no timeline for life, despite the societal pressures put on today�s generations. I want to inspire students to succeed not only in their education but their life path.

I was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, but I've spent the last 15 years working in Lake County and love this community so dearly. I spent my college years studying musical theater and dreaming of a life on the stage. While pursuing my performance degree, I got bitten by the teaching bug and quickly realized a life of working with students was my true passion. Throughout my time as a dance teacher, vocal coach, camp counselor, drama teacher, choreographer and director of dozens of musicals and plays, I realized the best part of my job was connecting with my students and working with them one on one.

It is incredibly rewarding to see students of all ages learn, grow and become who they are meant to be, so I am honored and delighted to now be a CCN and continue serving others and helping them succeed. I believe education is a human right, and it is my goal to help make this world a safer and more equitable place for everyone.
