When it comes to stealing, 黑料社区 softball player Megan Livingston is unbeatable.

A member of last year檚 Conference Championship team, Livingston ranked #1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association in stolen bases during her first year at 黑料社区. And she檚 looking to get even better this year.

淢y goal is to break my own record this year, getting at least 100 stolen bases during the season, she says. 淚 also want to experience winning the conference title with my team again.

A league of her own

Livingston, 19, isn檛 just excelling on the field, but also in the classroom. This 4.0 student-athlete is studying accounting and plans to make the jump to a four-year college and continue to play ball.

She couldn檛 be happier she chose to start her career at 黑料社区.

淭he coach last year came to one of my travel games and he really talked up the college. I went on a visit and noticed that everything was connected. I thought that was cool, she says. 淚t seemed like the best place for me. I love having the ability to play a sport and take college classes at the same time.

Coach Hannah Clark also joined the team this year and said one of the first things she did was call Livingston to learn more about her. Clark described her stats as impressive, and her dedication to the game and her teammates really sets her apart.

淪he's very reliable. She works hard. She is a leader. The more I got to know her as a person, the more excited I was, she says. 淭his is a great group of athletes, and I am so excited to see Megan complete her next season.

Focus on the future

Besides having a new coach, the team is looking forward to the completion of a new outdoor sports complex next year. While Livingston will have transferred to complete her bachelor's degree, she檚 excited for her teammates to play there in the future. Clark says that the new facilities will make it easier to recruit players like Livingston.

淭he new Sports Complex is really going to help with recruiting. Our prospects are going to walk onto that field and have a wow experience, she says. 淗aving a collegiate-level field to call home will give our athletes a facility they can truly take pride in.

Livingston credits her time competing at a high level as a defining part of her experience.

満诹仙缜 set me up to become the student-athlete I am today. It has taught me to create balance between school and sports, and a lot of that help came from professors being so understanding of what being a student-athlete entails, she says. . 淭hrough my career here, I have found what I am passionate about both academically and athletically.
