Get ready to welcome a dynamic powerhouse of roots music to the James Lumber Center (JLC). Yonder Mountain String Band has been a key player in the progressive jam-grass movement for nearly three decades, and 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, they檒l be bringing their groovy beats to the JLC檚 Mainstage.

With songs that offer the perfect crossover between nostalgic bluegrass and musical storytelling, Yonder Mountain is a band that you can groove, sway or bob your head along to from any seat in the house. Yonder is embarking on a cross-country tour supporting their latest album 淣owhere Next, featuring arguably their most expansive tuneful chapter yet.

Featuring nine fresh, original songs, 淣owhere Next is a mix of indie rock and bluegrass that showcases the collaborative musical efforts of the band檚 founding members Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston and Ben Kaufmann, alongside multi-instrumentalist Nick Piccininni, whose contributions add several shining moments throughout the record.

淣owhere Next follows Yonder Mountain檚 2024 Grammy-nominated album 淕et Yourself Outside (2022), adding momentum to the band檚 rich musical lore, and giving audiences some surprising new sounds to look forward to.

From thoughtfully composed lyrics to toe-tapping tales of plucked strings and wandering words, Yonder Mountain is a band that tells stories through music that every audience who hears them becomes a part of.

淭here is ample reason why Yonder Mountain String Band has become one of the leading practitioners of modern bluegrass, Bluegrass Today said. 淎n astute combination of melody and musicality make them an obvious example of the way today檚 musical tastes inform bluegrass music檚 contemporary impact."
